Biographical history
Ainslie Helmcken, grandson of John Sebastian Helmcken and son of James and Edith Helmcken, served as Victoria's City Archivist from 1967 to 1983.

This collection consists of a variety of original and copied documents on a number of topics pertaining to Victoria over the years. These documents, which were brought together by the City's first Archivist, Ainslie Helmcken, include programmes, menus, correspondence, booklets, newspaper clippings, and receipts.
